What Is Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization (IASTM)?
IASTM is a technique that utilizes specially designed stainless steel tools to manipulate skin, myofascia, muscles, and tendons that are exhibiting adhesions, scar tissue formation or chronic inflammation.
As a result, IASTM stimulates a local inflammatory process which initiates the reabsorption of inappropriate adhesions or scar tissue and promotes a cascade of healing activities resulting in remodeling of the affected soft tissue structures. This allows for restoration of tissue flexibilty and a reduction in pain so you can move better and feel better.
